The Feminist Art movement began in the late 1960’s and flourished throughout the 1970’s during the second wave of feminism, its effects are on going today.
Feminist Art is the efforts and accomplishments of feminists around the world who make art that reflects the lives of women and their experiences, as well as raising consciousness of political and cultural changes regarding the rights of women. It also seeks to bring visibility to women in art history and in the practice of art.
